Collectibles (e.g. trading cards, art, sneakers, jewelry, etc) can be appreciating assets due to supply and demand: if there's a limited supply, the price will go up if demand goes up.
Buying real estate is a common asset for people to own because they can use it to live in. Real estate can also be used as an investment asset to buy and rent out to others. Real estate is typically an appreciating asset. To understand how real estate is bought, check out Section 11.
