Historically, the M.O. with investing has been 1) deeply understand how to invest, the risks, etc, and 2) get started. We think that's backward: instead, first get started by experimenting with various investments. You'll learn over time what works and what doesn't in a real way with skin in the game. And you get all the ancillary benefits of going down the rabbit hole, increased understanding and compounding early.
The analogy I often use is with skiing/snowboarding. No one learns by watching people go down the hill and watching Youtube videos hours of professionals. Rather, you have to fall down the hill a couple times before you get understand your style and get better. Investing is no different.
